The Airstream
Introducing the newest member of our family and subsequently our future home, Earl the Pearl!
Earl was born in 1978 at 3:53 pm on a Wednesday in Ohio. He belongs to Airstream’s International line and officially goes by the royal model name Ambassador.
He stands twenty-eight feet long weighing approximately 4.5 tons of sweet aluminum love not counting the 2 tons of mouse droppings, which currently slightly exceed the loading capacity or GRVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) to say in trailer jargon.
Other than that, his first two owners took really good care of him and he came to us a month ago fully equipped with all appliances in working order.
Earl was named after the great and often forgotten Earl Monroe, an NBA great who played for the Baltimore Bullets and later the New York Knicks in the 70s.
He was named “Rookie of the Year” in 1968 and nominated for the All-Star team numerous times, but was most famous for his extravagant dribbling skills which earned him the nick name “The Pearl”.
Since the similarities of those two legends cannot be denied, namingly the shine of dribbling skills of the one and the aluminum shine of the other as well as the era of their most glorious days the 70s, we have tributed the nickname of Earl the Pearl to our offbeat, aluminum hotshot.
But enough reminiscing about once upon a time. It is time to roll up our sleeves and restore Earl to his former All-Star condition. Follow our blog to see where we are at in our renovation process!
